Patient safety alerts
Patient Safety Alerts are official notices issued by NHS England/NHS Improvement which give advice or instructions on how to prevent specific types of incidents which are known to occur in the NHS and cause serious harm or death. Unfortunately the NHS Improvement website only lists alerts issued since 2012.
AvMA believes NHS bodies, regulators and patients should have access to all alerts that have been issued, as the issues remain relevant and NHS bodies should still be complying with the alerts. We therefore are monitoring a complete list which can be accessed below.
