AvMA today called for the Government to act urgently to open up NHS services for non-COVID patients or risk avoidable harm to thousands. In his latest blog, AvMA Chief Executive Peter Walsh warned that many NHS hospitals are running at 60% of capacity or less, with Nightingale hospitals standing empty and private sector capacity unused. He urged the Government and NHS bosses to balance the risk of COVID-19 risk against the significant risks posed by delayed diagnosis and treatment of other conditions.
