Support for full duty of candour grows

The General Medical Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council are the latest bodies to tell the review looking at the statutory Duty of Candour to include any significant harm.  They join the CQC, Royal College of Nursing and leading patients’ organisations headed by AvMA.  Read AvMA’s briefing on the Duty of Candour here. The review was ordered by Jeremy Hunt after AvMA objected to plans to restrict the duty to fatal and severe permanent disability cases only.
