Nominations open for inaugural patient safety engagement award
NHS organisations who have excelled in engaging patients and families in patient safety work can now be nominated for a brand new award. Launched by Patient Safety Learning and sponsored by AvMA, this new award is looking for innovative projects which have made a demonstrable difference to patient safety and have the potential to be replicated in other organisations.
The winner will receive a £2,000 donation towards their work, with one runner up receiving £1,000. The successful projects will also be showcased at the Patient Safety Learning conference in September 2018.
There are also awards for “Patient safety quality improvement projects linked to reporting systems and investigation of patient safety incidents, events, near misses and examples of good practice” and “Improving the environment in which staff are able to raise and address safety concerns”.
Full details of the award are available at www.patientsafetylearning.org/awards. The deadline for nominations is 30 June 2018.
