CQC and Morecambe Bay scandal

AvMA is working to secure a fully independent and wide-ranging investigation into events concerning the safety and regulation of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.  Ministers have promised an investigation, to be chaired by Dr Bill Kirkup, following campaigning by Morecambe families and AvMA.  AvMA is arguing that the investigation must cover the role of all the organisations involved with Morecambe, including the SHA, Monitor, Ombudsman and Department of Health as well as the CQC.

AvMA have had the privilege of supporting the Titcombe family with their son Joshua’s inquest and working closely with James Titcombe and Morecambe Bay Inquiry Action Group since.
