AvMA appoints new Chair
Published: 9 Dec 2020
At its AGM on 8th December AvMA elected a new Chair, Moi Ali. The appointment comes as the previous chair, Suzanne Shale, stepped down from being a trustee of the charity following her appointment to the board of the GMC.
Moi has been a trustee of AvMA since 2018 and has a wealth of experience in the healthcare / regulatory field. She is an independent consultant, trainer and author specialising in communications and customer experience. See her profile here. Moi succeeds Suzanne Shale who had been a trustee since 2014 and Chair since 2015.
AvMA chief executive Peter Walsh said: “Everyone at AvMA is sad to lose Suzanne, who was a truly exceptional chair. We wish her luck in her new role with the GMC where we know she will continue to be a powerful advocate for patients, and we look forward to continuing a less formal association with her. We are delighted to welcome Moi Ali as our new Chair. She knows AvMA well, is passionate about our work, and brings heaps of useful experience and expertise”.
