“Duty of candour” could allow misdiagnosis to be covered up unless changes are made
April 23, 2014AvMA’s Response_to the Department of Health consultation on the Duty of Candour regulations calls for changes to ensure that cases of known late or misdiagnosis that may lead to harm being caused need to be brought to patients’ attention. AvMA believe that the way that the regulations are currently drafted to not cover such circumstances.
