Scottish government legislates for Duty of Candour
June 5, 2015The Scottish Government has published a Health Bill including provision for a statutory duty of candour. This follows a consultation last year following years of campaigning North and South of the border by AvMA, and the recent introduction of a statutory duty of candour in England.

AvMA Response to Department of Health’s “Freedom to speak up proposals”
June 4, 2015AvMA has submitted its response to consultation held by the Department of Health on its proposals for taking forward the “Freedom to Speak Up” proposals made by Sir Robert Francis last year. AvMA has made further suggestions for supporting and protecting staff who raise concerns and treating whistleblowers fairly.
