Conference Manager

Ed joined AvMA as Conference Manager in May 2006 after several years of organising and running successful events in the engineering sector. Being a part of an organisation that does so much important work in supporting those affected by medical accidents was a key factor in him joining AvMA.

Ed manages a team of four in AvMA’s Events Department. The Annual Clinical Negligence Conference, held in June, attracts around 500 delegates and over 40 exhibitors. Along with this we run around 20 other medico-legal conferences and courses throughout the year, from advanced surgery to basic law, as well as a comprehensive webinar programme. We aim to provide continued education and awareness of clinical negligence issues to help promote patient safety.

Outside of work Ed spends his time running around after his young daughter and is the sole member and self-appointed lifetime chairman of the Shoreham-by-Sea branch of the Derby County Supporters’ Club.
